HEALTH CARE WORKERS IN WESTERN NY PLAN PROTEST

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A health care workers union in western New York says
about 3,000 members are planning to picket later this month to protest lack
of progress on a new contract.

Local 1199 of the SEIU United Healthcare Workers East says talks with
Kaleida Health broke down last month over retirement benefit issues.

The union says members from its 12 Kaleida bargaining units plan to picket
at the company's headquarters on Sept. 30.

Among the facilities where the union members work are Women and Children's
Hospital in Buffalo and Buffalo General Hospital.
