The inaugural
Western New York Apollo Alliance Summit.
will be held at the
New York
State
United
Teachers
Conference
Center
in Rochester, NY
on November
8, 2007
from
9AM-1PM.
Field trips are offered following
the summit.
In July
2006, the New York State Apollo Alliance became
the eleventh state chapter to
join the National Apollo Alliance. The coalition
is working to build
New
York’s economy and protect the
environment through energy independence and the
creation of green collar jobs.
The
Alliance
anticipates a non-partisan
audience of approximately 75 business, labor,
environmental, community, and
governmental affairs leaders joined in the goal
to create a bold clean energy future
for all New Yorkers.
The
Summit
will offer discussions on renewable
energy development, job training partnerships,
investments in green buildings, the
role of market-based solutions to environmental
challenges, healthy schools and
sustainable municipalities. Conference
participants
will also have the opportunity to discuss how
federal and state policy initiatives may
advance these goals.
A vast group of
panelists will include
representatives from Greater Rochester
Enterprise,
Onondaga
Community
College, the City of Auburn New York, The
Town of Brandt,
Erie
County
NY.
