(Brighton, NY) - Local workers,
members of the
Rochester and Genesee Valley Area Labor
Federation (RGVALF),
will picket Oak Hill Country Club at 12 noon,
Tuesday, October
14 to protest an expensive two-day golf
fundraiser to benefit
Congressman John R. "Randy" Kuhl, Jr. (29th
District of New
York).
"While people throughout his
district are worried
sick about losing their life savings,
Congressman Kuhl finds
time to play golf and raise thousands for his
campaign." said
Tim Barbeto, a warehouse worker at Wegman's and
member of the
Teamsters Union.
"Our government and
retirement accounts
are going broke while Kuhl is playing golf with
the elite at
$2,500 per round," said Charles Ennis,
postal employee at
the US Postal service, and member of the
American Postal Workers
Union.
The protesters are also expected
to point out
Kuhl's record on Trade Policy; the Bush Tax
Cuts; the Employee
Free Choice Act; and failing to support the
middle class and
working people throughout his
district.
